Fred Marion Edgington

December 5, 1932 — October 6, 2007

Mr. Fred Marion Edgington, 74, of Las Cruces died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 in Winston-Salem, NC unexpectedly. Mr. Edgington was born Dec. 1932 in Longmont, CO, son of the late Fred Marion and Mildred Payne Edgington. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the 1950's in Germany and received an honorable discharge. After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from University of Colorado, he came to Las Cruces to work for White Sands Missile range where he worked until he retired for the first time. He greatly enjoyed working with all the people at his current job at EMI. He was an avid duplicate bridge player, and a square dancer from college until the present. He was a member of the Optimist Club for many years. He was genuinely loved by all his family and friends. A son, Scott David Edgington, preceded Mr. Edgington in death. Surviving is his wife, Billie Anne Edington and mother-in-law Nell Edington of the family home, his children: Cammie Howard and her husband Mark, Andreas Boesel and wife Shari, daughter-in-law Carol Edgington. His grandchildren: Kevin Edgington, Alex and Ian Howard, Charles Edgington and wife Paige, and Taryn McNeely and husband Patrick. Sisters-in-law: Greta Edgington, JoAnn Edington, Sally Rivera and Linda Allen. Nieces and Nephews Donna, Deb, Dot, Creighton, Charles, Dyan, David, Kris, Dale, Charles, Kitty, Helen, Lonnie, Tammy, Bonnie Jean and their families. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007 at 2 PM, Getz Funeral Home with Pastor John Mikul officiating.
