Gail Ann (Sisson) Mertz passed away Wednesday April 2 at Mountain View Hospital due to cardiac complications. Gail Ann (Sisson) Mertz passed away Wednesday April 2 at Mountain View Hospital due to cardiac complications. Gail, daughter of Douglas and Lila (Talboys) Sisson was born September 16, 1945 In Kalamazoo, Michigan. She graduated in 1963 from Tecumseh High School, Tecumseh, Michigan. She had been a resident of Las Cruces since 1982 and worked several years at the Holiday Inn in the accounting and other departments. She was an avid NASCAR (Dale Earnhardt Jr.) fan, a competitive dart shooter and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, Post 6917. She is survived by her husband Dave Mertz, daughter Jennifer Whitlock, granddaughter Caitlin of Virgina and stepdaughter Tara Mertz of Las Cruces. She is also survived by her 3 older brothers - Mike Sisson of Tecumseh, Michigan - Jack Sisson and wife Linda of Torch Lake, Michigan - and Bill Sisson formally of Las Cruces and now Shady Cove, Oregon, many nieces and nephews. At her request, cremation has taken place and memorial service's to celebrate her life were held on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM at VFW Post 6917, 5845 Bataan Memorial West. PDF Printable Version
