Garnet Imogene (Smith) Rominger of Las Cruces was born August 20, 1922 in Metcalf, Illinois to Clarence and Mabel Smith. She attended Sullins College and American Business College. Garnet and her husband Harry Charlton Rominger Jr. were married in Ashville, N.C. on August 11, 1944. They raised their family in Lombard, ILL and retired with her husband to Scottsdale, AZ in 1973. They then moved to Las Cruces in 1998 residing at the Good Samaritan Retirement Village where she was active in the "WHAT'S NEW" sewing caps for cancer patients. She was also a church member at St. Paul's United Methodist Church and member of the Double Twenties Adult Sunday School Class. Garnet will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Harry C. Rominger Jr. of the family home; two daughters Deborah Schwebke and husband John of Las Cruces and Linda Borchers of St. Louis; four grandchildren Dr. Kristin Schwebke Dodson, DVM and husband Michael, Melanie Schwebke, Kathleen and Matthew Borchers; brother James Milton Smith of Snellville, Georgia. Garnet was preceded in death by her brother Earl Smith. A celebration of Garnet's life will be held at 2:00 P.M.on Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at University Terrace Good Samaritan with Rev.
