Gena Lee Watkins, born on September 25, 1979, in Fresno, CA, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 44 in Las Cruces, NM. Gena, a loving wife, mother, and sister, will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Mark Lambert; her children, Dalton Blair and Bree Watkins; her brothers, Wally Watkins and D. J. Watkins; and her father, Nick Buris. Gena was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine Watkins.
Gena was known for her caring nature and willingness to help those in need. She cherished spending time with her family, especially enjoying camping, road trips, and sightseeing adventures. After being a devoted stay-at-home mom, Gena pursued a career as a school bus attendant, eventually becoming a school bus driver and trainer. She formed strong bonds with the children on her bus route, always showing concern for their well-being.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Gena Watkins will be held at Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM, March 2, 2024, starting at 9:30 am. Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM, is honored to assist with the arrangements for Gena's service. May she rest in peace.
