Genevieve J. Widmoyer, 81 of Las Cruces died Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice La Posada. She was born on November 7, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eugene and Vivian Jonas. Genevieve J. Widmoyer, 81 of Las Cruces died Wednesday June 17, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice La Posada. She was born on November 7, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Eugene and Vivian Jonas. Genevieve was an active board member with the Planning, Zoning and Historical Appropriateness Commission of the town of Mesilla, New Mexico. She also helped form the State Licensing Board for Occupational Therapist. As a devoted Catholic Genevieve started the Docent Program at Basilica of San Albino Church. She loved to travel the world and solve puzzles her favorite being crossword puzzles. Genevieve will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Tim Widmoyer of Chester, Virginia, daughters Ann Keppler and Cathie Romero Of Las Cruces, New Mexico, brother William Jonas, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Fred Widmoyer. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday June 25, 2009 at Basilica of San Albino Church. Inurnment of Genevieve's cremains will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks donation be made in Genevieve's Name to Mesilla Valley Hospice, Inc. 299 E.
