Veva was born January 3, 1948 in Las Cruces, NM to Carmelo and Guadalupe Valenzuela. She was a homemaker and a member of 1st Assembly of God Church. Genevieve "Veva" V. Lucero, 59 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. Veva was born January 3, 1948 in Las Cruces, NM to Carmelo and Guadalupe Valenzuela. She was a homemaker and a member of 1st Assembly of God Church. Veva was always faithful in the church and was a participant in the woman's ministries. Veva is survived by her five sons, Arthur Lucero and his wife Carmen, William Lucero; Michael Lucero and his wife Richelle; Matthew Valenzuela and companion Teresa Lopez; and Gene Valenzuela. Two daughters, Mary Lou Rodriguez and her husband Michael and Nancy Herrera and her husband Matthew. Her grandmother, Angelita Hernandez; Six brothers, Carmen "Juni" Valenzuela, Raul, Alfredo, Roudolfo, Arturo, and Miguel Valenzuela; two daughters, Blanca "Margie" Gonzalez, and Bertha Montoya. Also surviving Veva are 17 grandchildren, Roberta Lucero, John Solis Jr, Cynthia Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez Jr, Jourdan Herrera, Nevaeh Herrera, Cindy Lucero, Naomi Lucero, Rudy Lucero III, Gabriel Padilla, Joshua Lucero, DeAndra Altamirano, Dominic Altamirano, Jennifer Ramos, Ashlynn Lucero, Breanna Herrera, and Johnathan Parra. Five great grandchildren, Christopher Calzada, Mariah Lucero, Andrew Lucero, Dominique Triste, An Triste, Angel Triste, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 also at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Hector Vega. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery.
