George Boyd Chase, 79, of Las Cruces died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. "Uncle George" as he was fondly known was born April 25, 1933 in Ballanger, TX to George and Carrie Jones Chase. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. He was well known in the Las Cruces area as Foreman with Truck Stop of America. He enjoyed dominoes, church, music and dancing but his passion was for his family. Uncle George will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Corina Chase of the family home; sons Larry Patton and wife Tami and David Hovey and wife Maggie; daughters Leticia Patterson, Marina Daniels and husband Daon and Demetris Hovey and wife Amanda. He is also survived by many grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and 1 brother. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate his life are at 10 am on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at Christian Calvary Center with Pastor Mark Jordan officiating. He will be buried following services at 2 pm also on Tuesday at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. The honor of being a pallbearer and honorary pallbearer will go to members of Uncle George's family and friends. PDF Printable Version
