George J. Schiele, 88, of Las Cruces died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. He was born in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, PA on Jan. 25, 1917 of Austrian Parentage. He graduated from St. Ludwig's Parochial School, Brown Prep School and Temple Technical School. He also attended Philco Tech and NMSU where he took courses in Water Resources and Computer Programming. George was married to his wife Rita on May 3, 1941 and enjoyed 55 years of holy matrimony. They moved to Las Cruces in Dec. 1966 and enjoyed 30 years in the Land of Enchantment. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably as a Radio Operator in the USA, Panama Canal Zone and Europe. George also worked at WSMR as an Electronic Tech and really enjoyed the challenges each day. He was blessed in many wonderful ways especially with the friendship of so many beautiful people. Mr. Schiele will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sister Ann Clark and his many extended families. A Memorial Mass will be at 5:30 PM Thursday, June 2, 2005 at St. Albert the Great Newman Center with Fr. Brise
