George W. Reilman, 86, of Las Cruces, died Friday Oct. 13, 2006 at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Dalhart, TX to George H. and Mary Thewes Reilman. Mr. Reilman was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad. He had been an employee from 1941-1980. George W. Reilman, 86, of Las Cruces, died Friday Oct. 13, 2006 at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Dalhart, TX to George H. and Mary Thewes Reilman. Mr. Reilman was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad. He had been an employee from 1941-1980. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army where he served his country honorably and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. George was also a 30year member of the American Legion El Paso Del Norte Post, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Blue Bells Square Dance Club of Las Cruces, NM. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. George is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Betty V. Reilman of the family home; sister Georgia Mae Colaccino of Dallas, TX; 4 daughters Glynda Hardcastle and husband Ron of Elgin, TX, Patricia Ashlock and husband Daniel of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara Jewett and husband Steve of Las Cruces and Karen Butler of Austin, TX; son Don Reilman of Seattle. WA, and by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Mr. Reilman's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday October 21, 2006 at Holy Cross Catholic Church 1327 N. Miranda with Fr. Ray Flores officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at the St. Francis Columbarium with military honors.
