Georgia E. Carver Obituary Georgia (Mimi) E. Carver, 81, a longtime resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at La Posada Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces. A memorial mass at Saint Genevieve Catholic Church in Las Cruces will take place December 27, 2014 at 1:00 pm to celebrate her life. Georgia was born December 21, 1932 in Farmington, Minnesota to George and Mary Eakens. She was the middle of three sisters. She came to Las Cruces in 1951 where she met the love of her life, George Carver in 1952, and they married January 10, 1953 in Farmington, Minnesota and resided in Las Cruces. Georgia was a mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. For all of those that knew Georgia, knew that her door was always open and there was always a place at her table. She was everybody's second mom on Ethel Street. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Georgia is survived by her husband George Carver; daughters Jenette Carver and Suzanne Sandoval and husband Tony; sons Lee Carver, Bobby Carver and wife RitaJo, Bryan Carver and wife Stacey, all of Las Cruces; sons Michael Carver and wife Kathy of Cedar Crest, NM, John Carver and wife Hilda of Homer, AK and sister Mary Dupre and husband Dick of Minot, ND; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding Georgia in death are her parents, sister Carol Metzger and daughter Mary Louise Carver.
