Gloria Paz, age 60 joined her Heavenly Father on the morning of October 18th, at La Posada Hospice Facility. Gloria was born in Las Cruces on February 6, 1963 and was a lifelong member of St. Genevie’s Catholic church.

Gloria was a fun-loving, energetic soul, who loved to sing and dance. She loved getting together with family and friends to play games, visit and going out somewhere. Gloria brought joy to the family just with her laughter. Her smile would bright a room and lift the heaviest of hearts. She graduated from Las Cruces High School May 16, 1984. After graduating, she enjoyed working at Tresco, which transitioned to Day Habilitation Service, which included many outings and social gatherings. She especially enjoyed the dances and karaoke night. She was a member of the Las Cruces Challengers Bowling League and could be found every Saturday morning at the Bowling alley with her friends. She also enjoyed the performing arts. For many years she was a member of Los Pastores Del Valle de Mesilla, a local theatrical group celebrating the Christmas story from a unique cultural perspective. She also danced with the ARC Angels at the Life Center for people with special needs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Lorraine Paz of Las Cruces, NM. She is survived by eight brothers and sisters, David Paz (OFM), Randy Paz (Lorraine), Marnie Solomon (Otis), Steven Paz, Sue Edwards (Larry), Leo Paz (Judy), Miguel Paz (Cindy), Marvin Paz (Debbie) and numerous nieces and nephews.

In her later years she enjoyed independent living in her childhood home thanks to the service of Nezzycare of Las Cruces. The family would like to recognize their staff who provided many years of care and companionship. Their kindness and concern for her made them an integral part of our family. We will be forever grateful for their service.

Visitation will be at Getz Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25th at 6PM. With recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Genevie’s Catholic Church on Thursday, October 26th, at 1 PM. with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the services.
