Gretchen D. Whitlow, 84 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. She was born June 15, 1920 in DeView, Arkansas to James and Ruth Keating. Gretchen D. Whitlow, 84 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. She was born June 15, 1920 in DeView, Arkansas to James and Ruth Keating. Gretchen was an area resident for about the last 23 years and was a pastor's wife. She was also a very active member at First Baptist Church. Gretchen is survived by one son, Eugene Whitlow and his wife Ann of Las Cruces, NM; one daughter Ceci Ingram and her husband Kim of Lakeland, Florida; two grandchildren, Lori Byre and her husband Greg of Ashburn, Virginia and Shawn Whitlow of Austin, Texas; and two great grandchildren, Noah and Caleb Byre of Ashburn, Virginia. Her husband C. Eugene Whitlow preceded her in death in September of 1994. A time of remembrance and fellowship will be held from 9-10 AM Saturday, April 2, 2005 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 106 South Miranda. The Funeral Service will follow at 10 AM also at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Loudat, editor of Baptist New Mexican, officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Fowler, David Gorman, Michael Hamrick, Kenny McCardle, Bob Cline, and Daron Knoner. Serving, as honorary bearers, will be the deacons from First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Hope for Kenya Trip c/o First Baptist Church, 106 South Miranda, Las Cruces, New Mexico 88005.
