Harlan A. Beasley

Harlan A. Beasley, 88 of Las Cruces, NM died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Casa Bella Assisted Living Facility. Harlan was born January 4, 1921 in Bear Spring, Tennessee to John D. and Ruth Beasley. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Harlan lived in Clovis, NM where he served as principal at Clovis High School for many years. In 1985 he and his wife Margaret moved to Las Cruces where he lived until his death. Harlan was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret of Las Cruces; two sons, Don Beasley and wife Patsy, and Jeff Beasley and wife Kim all of Las Cruces. One brother Davenport Beasley of Huffman, TX; one sister, Lorene Barnes and husband Joe of Clarksville, TN. Also surviving Harlan are four grandchildren, Brad and wife, Kathy Beasley of Las Cruces, NM; David and wife, Kim Beasley of Omaha, NE; Damon Beasley and Dana Beasley of Las Cruces, NM and one great grandson, Zach Beasley of Omaha. Harlan is also survived by his extended family at Casa Bella Assisted Living. A visitation will be held from 5 to7 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Whitley of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, NM 88005 or St. Paul's United Methodist Church Building Fund, 225 W. Griggs Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88001. Arrangements By Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E.
