He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably as Mailman Second Class and was awarded the American Area Victory Medal. Harry H. (Buck) Dunning Jr. died Thursday March 16, 2006. He was born March 29, 1920 in Alva, OK. to Harry SR. and Viva Dunning. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably as Mailman Second Class and was awarded the American Area Victory Medal. He was a prominent businessman and was the owner operator of Southwestern Abstract and Title Co. Buck was gifted what a quicksilver wit and a charming self-deprecating sense of humor, he had a joke and ready smile for everyone he met. He loved sports, telling stories, playing cards but most of all spending time with his family and friends who will be telling stories of him forever. He is survived by his daughter Connie Vermeer and husband Brad of Mesilla Park; grandchildren Jennifer Lee Wallace and husband Clayton and Jason MacGregor Ackleson and wife Catherine. He is also survived by his great-grandson Thomas MacGregor Ackleson. Buck was preceded in death by his loving wife Claudine Dunning, his parents and by two sisters June Richey and Joan Schneble. A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. Graveside Service's for Buck will be at 9 AM on Monday, March 20, 2006 at Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Loyd Cain officiating and also with military honors. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to a charity of choice. PDF Printable Version
