Hazel left this world to meet with Jesus and her beloved husband Raymond Jay Trigg in heaven along with her Grandsons Bryan Charles Miller and Justyn Lee Miller. She was at her home surrounded by her family and her loyal dog Maggie.

Hazel is survived by her daughter Terry Lynn Mackewich, her "favorite" son-in-law Michael Mackewich, her son by marriage Raymond Jay Trigg Jr., and his wife Donna. She is also survived by her Grandson Dylan R Miller and his wife Sarah, granddaughter Mary Miller and her partner Michael, Granddaughter Mariah Miller, Granddaughter Tyler White and husband Caleb, and Grandson Kyle McWilliams. As well as her great-grandchildren Kevin Raymond Miller, Jesse James Miller, Scarlette Hope Miller, Henry James Miller, Braydan Michael Spenard, Scarlett Elizabeth Ann Spenard, and Kinsley Rose Spenard, her sister Mary Sue Roberts and her sister in the friendship of 60+ years Nancy Carol Vickers.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Jay Trigg, Her grandsons Bryan and Justyn Miller, and her sister-in-law Rosie as well as her many dear friends she has missed every day.

Hazel was raised mainly in Van Horn, Texas with a few short stints in California. She and her best friend Nancy Carol ran around Van Horn laughing the whole time. She was dubbed the nickname Shotgun when a trucker friend came into town, and she wanted to go see the sights and told him she would ride "Shotgun" so her nickname stuck. Everyone knew them, especially after incidents like when their friend Doug got arrested for driving too slowly and they stood outside the jail and talked to him all night long. She worked as a waitress and hostess at the Holiday Inn in Van Horn, which at that time was the fanciest place in town. While working, and being a single mother, she met Raymond, when he moved into the second half of the duplex she lived in. Hazel and Raymond, quickly and furiously fell in love and got married. He wanted her to stay home and take care of the house and the kids. So, she did. She took excellent care of him for all 49 years. They ended up in Las Cruces where Raymond worked for the City of Las Cruces. They bought a house and land in Fairacres and lived there until today. They were active members of the Christian car club. They attended many car shows, to show Raymond's 1965 Ford Falcon. They had friends everywhere they went, mainly because of my Mom. She never met a stranger. She would talk to everyone, and before long knew all about them. She would adopt them as her friends, kids, and grandkids. She and her sister Sue would get together on the weekends, drink wine and laugh while sitting on the back porch. Mom had said she was worried the cops would come because they were laughing so loud. She would laugh and talk so loud I never lost her in Walmart. I would stand by while she chatted with everyone in the store, all the while I was reminding her that I hated Walmart. She would then tell me all about them. The last weekend she was in Sagecrest Rehab, and she was rolling around in her wheelchair making friends with everyone. When I signed in an elderly lady rolled up and said "Oh I love your Mom" and I asked. "Umm who's my Mom?", She said "that happy lady named Hazel!!" My Mom is the laughter everyone needed. She will be missed so much.
