Heather Suzanne Forster (Kay), 71, peacefully entered eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 in Las Cruces, New Mexico after a prolonged struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born on December 31, 1946 in Peterborough, Ontario Canada to the late Robert and Lillian Kay. She is survived by Arnold, her loving husband of 45 years, brother Wayne Kay (Heather) of Peterborough, Ontario, sister Wendy Hampton of Surrey B.C. and nephews Jonathan (Iyo) of Maizuru, Japan, David of Kingston and Andrew of Banff. Heather was also dearly loved by her sister-in-law Cathy Bohrer (Dave) and her niece Caitlin and nephew Collin of Queen Creek, Arizona. Heather was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy posted to various bases in Canada and Germany. While in Europe, she met her best friend and love, Arnold a USAF veteran. For the next 35 years, Heather worked in medical records in Alabama and Colorado. She was respected as a hard worker and made many lifelong friends wherever she lived and worked. Although challenged with partial paralysis for 15 years, she carried on with courage and determination and retired from Aspen Valley Hospital in Colorado. After retiring to NM, they built their forever dream home. Heather loved the outdoors, walking, hiking, gardening, cooking and baking. She had a special place in her heart for all animals and especially her family of dachshunds which gave her great love and comfort. Although Alzheimer's robbed Heather of her memory, it could never erase her loving nature, bright smile and infectious laughter. Even in her last days, Heather never stopped providing strength and comfort to her family through her loving presence. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed, but will be in our hearts forever. A celebration of Heather's life will be held at future date in New Mexico, Arizona, and Canada. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
