Henry E. Rutherford passed away peacefully Monday, December 3, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee December 8, 1928. Henry was the youngest of 10 children born to William and Lula Belle Rutherford. He severed in the Army in World War II getting discharged in 1946 and enlisted a second time from 1950- 1952. Henry E. Rutherford passed away peacefully Monday, December 3, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee December 8, 1928. Henry was the youngest of 10 children born to William and Lula Belle Rutherford. He severed in the Army in World War II getting discharged in 1946 and enlisted a second time from 1950- 1952. He worked as a cowboy for several ranches in Texas until meeting his wife of 61 years Joan, who preceded him in death this February. Together they had 6 children: He lived in several places in the southwest, settling in Colorado where he worked as a machinist and equipment operator for the City of Pueblo for 20 years. They retired to New Mexico first in Roswell, then Las Cruces. Henry was a member of the VFW, Las Cruces Dance Club and a very active member of the Knights of Columbus for decades. Henry was a loving and devoted husband, and a kind father to Michael, Robert, Kathleen, Ann, Thomas, and William. He was a grandfather to Scott, Shane, John, Elizabeth, Mathew, Liam, and 9 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 13, 2018 at St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
