Henry Ickstadt, long time resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed quietly Saturday, January 8, 2011 with his wife Renate and his daughter Jeri-Anne by his side. Born May 29, 1935 in Wiesbaden, Germany, Mr. Ickstadt immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island, New York after World War II. He served as a tank commander in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ickstadt retired from White Sands Test Facility after many years as a lead/master electrician. Also a business owner, Mr. Ickstadt was a local electrical contractor owning Las Cruces Electric. Mr. Ickstadt enjoyed traveling worldwide with his wife, spending time with family and friends, as well as piloting private planes. Mr. Ickstadt is survived by his loving wife, Renate Ickstadt; daughter, Jeri-Anne Shelton, son James Henry Ickstadt, son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Becky Ickstadt, his beloved granddaughters, Jordanne Shelton, Jenna Shelton, and Jessica Mora; as well as a dear cousin Elizabeth Keehner and Suzanne Walker. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jeff Shelton. At his request cremation has taken place and no local services are scheduled at this time and all prayers will be greatly appreciated.
