Henry M. Lucero, 56, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. Henry graduated from Mayfield High School and was a 1969 graduate of the El Paso Barber School. He was trained in hairstyling for both Sebring and Markham products and spent a career as a stylist in the Las Cruces community. His many years of hairstyling earned him appointments by two New Mexico Governor's to the New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, where he represented Southern New Mexico. Henry traveled the state reviewing barbershops and certifying new barbers including hosting many hairstyling shows and competitions throughout the state. Henry is survived by his parents, Genevieve M. Lucero and Arturo O. Lucero; a brother Albert M. Lucero and his wife Ana; a sister Dolores Connor and her husband Bill; and his two children, son, Sebring X. Lucero and his wife Jennifer of Arizona; and daughter Savonne L. Griffin and her husband Manuel of Las Cruces. Also surviving Henry are two grandchildren, Zeppelin and Adela Lucero. Henry enjoyed life and the many people he encountered in his lifetime. He never met a stranger, as he befriended everyone and all that knew him will miss him. A visitation will be held from 5 to 6 PM on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. The Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 9 AM on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal and Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Ricardo Bauza. Serving, as pallbearers will be Modesto Ledesma, Jr., Paul Barraza, Bill Connor, Kevin McGrath, Santos Delgado, and Ernie Utter.
