On September 2, 2007, Herbert Obediah Harding, finished his journey on earth and now is home with the Lord. Herb was born November 12, 1926, in Linhart, PA. to Peter and Elizabeth (Martin) Harding. As a young man he worked in Westinghouse of Pittsburgh, PA. and was a die hard Steelers fan. He married Dolores Ginther June 11, 1949. In 1953 they moved to the southwest settling in Las Cruces in 1954. Herb worked at White Sands Missle Range until his retirement in 1983, when he then built their lifelong dream cabin at Lake Roberts, NM. He loved the forests of New Mexico and was happiest when he was at their cabin. He will be deeply missed and even though his absence will be difficult, we are assured he now rests peacefully in the Lord's presence. Herb is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dolores, daughter Joanne and Jim Pereyra, daughter Cindy and Alfonso Esqueda and son, Herb Harding Jr. Herb had six grandchildren who were the light of his life, James (Heather) Pereyra, Matthew and David Esqueda, Elizabeth (Jesus) Quintana, Herb III (Natasha) Harding and Patrick Harding. He was also blessed with two granddaughters, Ashley Quintana and Lindsey Harding and one great grandson soon to be born, Gabriel Quintana. He is also survived by sisters Marian Carson and Janice Molina of Las Cruces, Laura Frank of Florida and brothers Clifford (Georgia), Alan (Linda), and Kenneth (Pat) Harding of Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be Friday, September 7, 2007, 2:00 PM, at Getz Funeral Home, with Pastor Dr. David U. Jones officiating.
