Hildur Alice Geneva Benting, 95 years old passed away August 5, 2013 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born February 11, 1918 in Swedeburg, Nebraska to Christian and Alice Lindquist Hildur grew up in Nebraska. She met the love of her life, Paul, and married Paul Wesley Benting July 23, 1940 in Glenwood, Iowa They owned and operated 2 gas stations and a restaurant in Wahoo, Nebraska...
Hildur Alice Geneva Benting, 95 years old passed away August 5, 2013 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born February 11, 1918 in Swedeburg, Nebraska to Christian and Alice Lindquist Hildur grew up in Nebraska. She met the love of her life, Paul, and married Paul Wesley Benting July 23, 1940 in Glenwood, Iowa They owned and operated 2 gas stations and a restaurant in Wahoo, Nebraska. They also had three boys, all born in Nebraska. The family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1956 when her husband got a job at White Sands Test Facility. Hildur was very involved in church and became a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, now called Peace Lutheran. She belonged to the women's groups and she volunteered her help and time for many years. She was still volunteering once a week to help fold the Sunday bulletin at age 90. In earlier years, Hildur also enjoyed camping, gardening, playing games/cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Hildur loved helping people and she loved being with family and friends. Hildur is survived by her sons; Larry Benting of Mississippi; Allan Benting, wife Sherry, of Las Cruces; Stuart Benting, wife Karen, of Las Cruces, she is also survived by 5 granddaughters, 4 grandsons and 17 great grandchildren Predeceased by husband, Paul Wesley Benting, March 18, 1982 and all of her siblings but one brother who resides in Nebraska A memorial services will be Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Reverend Randy Pabst officiating, burial will be at the Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in her memory to Peace Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association PDF Printable Version
