Irene S. Gonzalez, 83, of Las Cruces, went to the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Nea as she was known by her family was born Nov. 8, 1925 in Anton Chico, NM to Jose and Anastacia Gallegos Sandoval. Irene S. Gonzalez, 83, of Las Cruces, went to the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2009. Nea as she was known by her family was born Nov. 8, 1925 in Anton Chico, NM to Jose and Anastacia Gallegos Sandoval. She was a graduate of the New Mexico State School for the Deaf for which she was very proud. Nea enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking Mexican food. She was also known as Queen of Yard Sales. Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Frank Gonzalez of the family home and their daughter Patricia Gonzalez of Las Cruces. Also surviving her is her sister Antonia Cordova and husband Henry of Santa Fe, NM and two grandchildren Vanessa and Joshua. Nea was preceded in death by her son Frank Jr., her parents and 9 brothers and sisters. A Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. PDF Printable Version
