She was born March 26, 1950 in El Paso, TX to Antonio and Lorenza Benavidez Sr. Irma had been a Special Education Assistant with the Gadsden Independent School System and truly enjoyed working with the kids. Irma B. Alvarado, 58, of Chamberino, NM died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008. She was born March 26, 1950 in El Paso, TX to Antonio and Lorenza Benavidez Sr. Irma had been a Special Education Assistant with the Gadsden Independent School System and truly enjoyed working with the kids. She was an avid outdoors person who loved to work in her garden and also loved to sew. Irma was a faithful member of Living Waters Assembly of God but her passion was for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Arturo Alvarado Sr. of the family home; children Arturo Alvarado Jr. and Lisa Alvarado; mother Lorenza Benavidez; brothers and sisters Geronimo Benavidez, Robert Benavidez and wife Bertha, Kevin Benavidez, Irene Rodela and husband Art, Norma Benavidez, Eva Hinojosa and husband Tito, Olga Torres and Alicia Valles and husband Max. Also surviving Irma are her two grandchildren Sabino and Jeremiah. Irma was preceded in death by her father Antonio Benavidez Sr. and her brother Antonio Benavidez Jr. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home where a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Felix Gonzales of Living Waters Assembly of God officiating.
