Isaac Nathaniel (laughter, God's gift) Calderon, 20, of Las Cruces, NM died Monday December 5, 2005. He was born July 7, 1985 in Hobbs, NM to Rudy Calderon and Margaret E. Calderon. Isaac loved sports, singing, cooking, and spending time with friends. It was his nature to take care of children and friends. It brought him joy to be with his nephews wrestling and hearing them laugh. He trusted his friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Circumstances beyond his control overwhelmed Isaac. Led by desires to please, possess earthly desires and unable to gain control of situations (health and otherwise) led to an early death. Shortly before his death Isaac quoted a verse from the bible that came to life for him; "What should it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul" He is survived by his parents; Rudy Calderon of Hobbs, NM and Margaret E. Calderon of Las Cruces, NM one brother; Sam Estrada of Hobbs, NM one sister; Reyna Calderon of La Puente, CA. He is also survived by paternal grandparents; Rudy and Esther Calderon, great-grandmother; Elenor Martinez all of Hobbs, NM maternal grandparents; Gene and Diane Miller of La Luz, NM two nephews Jayzekiel and Elijah Estrada of Hobbs, NM and by many uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gonzalo Estrada, his precious aunts, and uncle. A visitation will be held Thursday December 8, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday December 9, 2005 at the Church on the Rock. Officiating will be Pastor Don Shockley. Burial will be Saturday December 10, 2005 at 11AM at the Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs, NM. Pallbearers will be Cyle Corse, Robert Azure, Andrew Flores, John Williams, Javier Jimenez and Nolan Medeiros.
