Isabel Absher, 86, of Cathedral City, California passed away May 17, 2015 in Palm Springs, California. She was born June 9, 1928 to Cruz Tafoya and Tomasita Tafoya in Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Isabel Absher, 86, of Cathedral City, California passed away May 17, 2015 in Palm Springs, California. She was born June 9, 1928 to Cruz Tafoya and Tomasita Tafoya in Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico. Isabel married Alvie D. Absher on August 5, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico. She worked for Cal Compact for 30 years in various capacities. Isabel lived in Las Cruces, since 1948 and only recently moved to California 3 months ago. Survivors include her son Michael Dale Absher of Palm Springs, CA and her sister Mary Muffo of New Athens, IL. Isabel is preceded in death by her parents Cruz and Tomasita, husband Alvie and daughter JoAnn Custer. A visitation for Isabel will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Getz Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Las Cruces.
