Isabel (Chavela) Hernandez passed away February 16, 2006 at Las Cruces Nursing Center. She was born in Hatch, NM on February 27, 1925 to Daniel S. and Rumalda (Benavidez) Fajardo. In her lifetime, she was a school bus driver and homemaker. She is survived by her son Daniel E. Hernandez of the family home, daughter Esther H. (Steve) Valencia of Arrey, NM, one granddaughter Renee (Andy) Pantoja of Las Cruces, one great grandson Eric Pantoja, one great granddaughter Breanna Pantoja of Las Cruces, one step grandson Richard Baca III, and one step granddaughter January Nicole Baca of Albuquerque, NM. Her sisters Emilia Fajardo and Rumalda B. Fajardo of Las Cruces, brothers Geronimo B. Fajardo of Las Cruces, Tomas B. (Eva) Fajardo of Tucson, AZ. and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel, her parents, three brothers, Miguel, Juan, and Albino Fajardo, two sisters, Salome Fajardo and Josephina Marquez. At her request cremation has taken place and a gathering of family and friends will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home.
