APODACA, ISABELLE O., age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014. After graduating from Las Cruces High School and attending New Mexico A&M (now New Mexico State University), she joined her husband, Dick, to embark on his career in the United States Foreign Service. Together they lived and raised a family in Peru, Brazil, Honduras, Chile and Washington, D.C., and returned to their native Las Cruces upon retirement in 1989. Her family and friends will always remember Isabelle for her intellectual curiosity, superb artistic and culinary talents, elegance and, above all, her caring and loving devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dick; her children, Annette, Patrick, Richard, Yvette and Joseph; her seven grandchildren; and her siblings, Bertha Banegas and Ernest Ortega. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at St. Genevieve Roman Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina St., Las Cruces, N.M. A rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Following interment at Masonic Cemetery, a reception will be held at the church from noon to 2:00 p.m. PDF Printable Version
