Isidro A. Garcia (Chilo), age 86, of Mesilla, NM passed away on March 7, 2024 with his wife at his side while he peacefully took his last breath at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM.
Chilo was born to Alberto Garcia and Ignacia Garcia on May 15, 1937. Chilo married the love of his life, Genevieve (Veva) Limas on May 14, 1966, a union that lasted for 58 years...
Isidro A. Garcia (Chilo), age 86, of Mesilla, NM passed away on March 7, 2024 with his wife at his side while he peacefully took his last breath at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM.
Chilo was born to Alberto Garcia and Ignacia Garcia on May 15, 1937. Chilo married the love of his life, Genevieve (Veva) Limas on May 14, 1966, a union that lasted for 58 years. Through thick and thin they never left each other’s side. He was a member of St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church and had a very deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He and his wife traveled on several pilgrimages to France, Portugal, Mexico City, and Medjugorje to visit the sites of the apparitions of Our Blessed Virgin Mary. His last pilgrimage was to Jerusalem-Holy City.
Chilo operated a successful business. He was owner and operator of “IG Printing” for 24 years. Chilo’s great joys were his music, singing, and his guitar.
Chilo is survived by his wife, Genevieve Garcia, and his sisters Delia Narvaez and Esperanza Merk and many nephews and nieces.
Chilo was preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Ignacia Garcia; brother, Frankie Garcia; sister, Petra Rivera; and sister, Ramona Rivera.
Family and friends will gather Monday, April 1, 2024 at 5:00 to 7:00 PM for visitation at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave, Las Cruces. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Genevieve’s Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina, Las Cruces on April 2, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Reverend Theophine Okafor. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue, Las Cruces.
Pallbearers will be Eloy L. Cabrera, Manuel L. Cabrera, Michael Y. Cabrera, Ray Narvaez, Sam Navarez, and Greg Archuleta. Honorary bearer Jason Dickert.
