Jack Alphus Richardson, 84, passed away March 9, 2010 in Las Cruces. He was born May 27, 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK to Minnie Pearl and William Alphus Richardson. Jack moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1954 where he owned and operated Valley Dental Lab. Jack Alphus Richardson, 84, passed away March 9, 2010 in Las Cruces. He was born May 27, 1925 in Oklahoma City, OK to Minnie Pearl and William Alphus Richardson. Jack moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1954 where he owned and operated Valley Dental Lab. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Past Master of Jornada Masonic Lodge #70, belonged to Yorkrite Masonic Bodies and Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. He was the founder of the Las Cruces Shrine Club Clown unit. He was also a member of American Legion Post #10. He was a talented musician performing with the Allen Fields Quintet, the Dance Beats, the Creole Dixieland Jazz Band and the Big Band on the Rio Grande. He was a singer and played guitar, banjo and bass. He was in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He served with the 18th General Hospital in the South Pacific, India and Burma. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Yvonne, son Randy and wife Debbie, son Bill and companion Teresa Burden, daughter Vicki and husband Dave Anderson, grandson Dustin Richardson and granddaughter Dani Coogler, all of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by a niece Beverly Napier of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Lorell. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Masonic Cemetery.
