Jack L. Neaves, 66 of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday August 23, 2011. He was born to Thomas and Estella Neaves in Massena, New York on January 20, 1945. Jack was the first mechanic to be hired and retire from the City of Las Cruces Roadrunner Transit System and an employee of the City of Las Cruces for 23 years. Jack enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. Jack L. Neaves, 66 of Las Cruces, NM died Tuesday August 23, 2011. He was born to Thomas and Estella Neaves in Massena, New York on January 20, 1945. Jack was the first mechanic to be hired and retire from the City of Las Cruces Roadrunner Transit System and an employee of the City of Las Cruces for 23 years. Jack enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. He rebuilt engines and old cars, only Fords, no Chevys allowed. He loved spending time with his family and making his granddaughters smile. Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice Neaves, daughters, Sherry (Kevin) Chesnut of Leavenworth, KS, Sandy (William) Harrell of Alamogordo, NM, and his three beautiful granddaughters, Paige and Kyra Harrell and Emmy Hicks. He is also survived by two brothers, Tommy and Gary Neaves, and three sisters, Sally Cecot, Patty Heidal, and Brenda Daulton and all of his Hecker Family members. Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday August 27, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home with Fr. Daniel Cave Of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Officiating. In lieu of flowers Jack's family asks donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society P.O.
