Jacqueline (Jackie) Morgan Schmidt nee Townley was born September 8, 1939 in London. Jackie died May 15, 2018 in Las Cruces, NM, at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband John C. Schmidt, brother Stewart Morgan Townley, several nephews and nieces, plus some lifelong friends. She was the sister to the late Bev Morgan Townley. Jackie worked as an executive secretary for many years in London, Rome, and the USA. When she retired, a great deal of her time was spent worrying about all the stray animals in the world. She adopted when possible and donated money to various animal organizations. It was a passion until her dying days. She spent the last thirty plus years with her husband. There were many moves to different cities until the last move brought her to New Mexico. She was a confidant, best friend, sounding board, and later a crutch to lean on. She will be greatly missed but her suffering is over now. It is time to celebrate the full life of a very exceptional woman. The memorial Service will be at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 Bowman Ave. in Las Cruces, NM at 10 AM on Saturday, June 30, 2018. Memorial Service Information
