James “Jim” A. Rosell passed away peacefully in his Las Cruces home surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Jim was born December 19, 1946 in St Louis, MO to Dr. Louis and Bess (Powell) Rosell.

James “Jim” A. Rosell passed away peacefully in his Las Cruces home surrounded by his loving family on May 21, 2024. He was 77 years old.
Jim was born December 19, 1946 in St Louis, MO to Dr. Louis and Bess (Powell) Rosell.
Jim retired as a LTC after 20 years in the US Army Reserves while concurrently serving as a federal employee with various agencies including the ATF, DEA, and Army Material Command. He culminated his 40 year federal career by retiring from the Army Research Laboratory at White Sands Missile Range. Jim had a Masters Degree in Computer Resources Management from Webster University and a Masters in Business Administration from NMSU.
Jim is survived by his brother, Bob (Susan) of Tulsa, OK; his loving wife of 47 years, Dolores “Mayoyi” of Mexico; his son, Paul, of St Charles, MO; his daughter, Suzanne, of Leawood, KS; and his two grandsons that he was so very proud of, Rowan and Torin.
In his free time, Jim loved flying planes, running, and spending time with family. Jim, who is affectionately known as “Abu” by his grandchildren, will be missed by everyone who knew him.
