James C. Ryan Jr., 79, of Las Cruces, NM, died Monday, January 19, 2009. He was the oldest of 12 children, born Nov. 6, 1929 in Moore, OK to James and Marie Ryan Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably. James moved to Las Cruces in 1964 and retired from NMSU as a warehouse supervisor in 2008 after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed long walk...
James C. Ryan Jr., 79, of Las Cruces, NM, died Monday, January 19, 2009. He was the oldest of 12 children, born Nov. 6, 1929 in Moore, OK to James and Marie Ryan Sr. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served his country honorably. James moved to Las Cruces in 1964 and retired from NMSU as a warehouse supervisor in 2008 after many years of faithful service. He enjoyed long walks along the river and Apodaca Park with his dog Dolly. He loved to read medical and military journals. He will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son Michael Scott Ryan of Las Cruces; daughters Kathy Potts and husband Michael of Queenstown, MD and Kay Alley and companion Les Clary of Las Cruces; brother and sisters Walter Ryan, Nancy Hale, Carman Butler and Maryann Hundley all of OK and Sarah Ryan of Florida. Also surviving James are his grand children Karla Rivera, David Ryan, Travis and Joshua Potts, Brian and Shawn Alley and by 8 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers John, Bill, Robert, Sandy Ryan and sister Hazel Ryan. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home with his son-in-law officiating. PDF Printable Version
