James Flores 'Jimmy' Robles

James (Jimmy) Robles 87 was called by the Lord on Monday May 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born in 1935. He was married to the love of his life, Minerva for 66 wonderful years. Together they started a family having three boys and one girl. Jimmy was commissioned to the New Mexico State Police, and proudly served in numerous counties throughout the State. After careful thought and planning Jimmy decided to apply with the City of Las Cruces Police Department and joined the force. He worked his way through the ranks becoming Assistant Chief of Police. While serving as a police officer he furthered his education: graduating from the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA, completed Special Agent training courses at the US Secret Service Headquarters in Washington DC, he became a licensed hypnotist and polygraph examiner. Jimmy was also very involved in his community serving numerous organizations throughout the State of New Mexico: Youth Patrol, Police Athletic League, C.H.I.N.S, President of Sherriff & Police Association. He retired in 1986 for much needed relaxation and took Minerva on numerous vacations. Jimmy loved his grandkids and enjoyed taking them camping, fishing, hiking, train rides, water parks & Disney World. After vacationing Jimmy returned to work and was appointed Sherriff of Dona Ana County in 1998. After his term ended Jimmy became the Director of Security for The Sunland Park Racetrack and New Mexico State Fair Racetrack. During this time, he also became one of the few T.R.P.B Agent's in the country. In his later years Jimmy continued staying busy serving on the Board of the Dona Ana Mutual Domestic Waters Association and the Public Employee Retirement Association. Throughout his life Jimmy proudly served his community and enjoyed mentoring the youth. Jimmy survived by his two sons James (Debra) & John (Vicky) daughter, Jackie (Ed) grandchildren: Anne Marie, James III, Amanda, Adrienne, Arlene, Richard, Corey, Candace, Janelle, Liz, Taylor, Patrick, Ally, Steven, Denise, Izaiah, Jonah, 21 great- grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Minerva, son Joseph (Jody), father Rosendo mother Dolores, brothers Edward, Eulogio, Eliseo, Elias, Eleazar (Chale), Ray, Ramon, Silvino, sister Rosita. Services for Jimmy will be held Saturday May 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Purification 5525 Cristo Rey St. Dona Ana, NM. Rosary to begin at 9:30AM, followed by a Memorial Service, Interment of ashes to follow at the Dona Ana Cemetery Cam De Flores Las Cruces, NM. Family and friends are invited for lunch at 12PM at the Benavidez Community Center located at 1045 McClure Rd. Las Cruces, NM to honor Jimmy & Minerva.
