James V Mallory

October 5, 1929 — August 10, 2010

James was born in Los Angeles in 1929, to Vernon and Violet Mallory. Jim was a devoted husband, loving father, understanding grandfather and doting great-grandfather. Jim was a friend to all and a stranger to none. An easy-going, life-loving, gentle man, that could bring out the best in anyone. He was a high school track star, winning many awards. Jim was an Air Force veteran having served with the 510th fighter bomber squadron. He received the good conduct medal and national defense service medal. Jim retired after many years of service in the aerospace industry. He was proud of his involvement and work as an electrical technician, with the Apollo and space shuttle missions. An avid tennis player, starting at 43 years young, he enjoyed life to the fullest and an occasional corny joke. Never one to miss a punch line, Jim was known to add pizzazz to any story, pizzazz that may or may not have been 100% factual. Jim, Dad, Papaw and Great-grandpa will be missed greatly by all who knew him, no matter how briefly. Jim is survived by his adoring wife Patricia, his "Sweetie" who was always by his side, apple not far from the tree son Steve (Niki), ever-loving daughters Becky and Anda (Bennie), thankful grandson Brian (Courtney), great-granddaughter Mackenzie and his four-legged buddy Amos. The world will be a shade dimmer without Jim's presence but Heaven will be a whole lot brighter. We love and miss you. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the family home, 22 Faulkner Canyon Road, Radium Springs, on Saturday, August 14th beginning at 2:00 pm. PDF Printable Version
