James W Sparrow (Jim) passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 84. He was born in Mantorville, Minnesota on May 08,1934 to Wendel C and Mame Sparrow. James W Sparrow (Jim) passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 84. He was born in Mantorville, Minnesota on May 08,1934 to Wendel C and Mame Sparrow. Jim is survived by his two children- Tom Sparrow of Artesia, NM and Heather Prince (Russell) of Las Cruces, NM ; Grandchildren- Lindsay Orosco (Anthony), Alyssa Nunez (Guillermo), and Cormick Prince; Great Grandchildren- Jacob, Darren, Remy, and Bryce. Jim was also survived by his siblings; Val, Martha, John (Jo) and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 40 years, Nancy Sparrow; grandson Tommy Sparrow; siblings, Nancy and Mary. Jim was in the Air force for 21 years and after he retired, he moved his family to Truth or Consequences, NM. Where he worked and owned Ekmar Abstract Title Company. After Nancy's passing, Jim moved to Las Cruces. Jim was an avid golfer and was very proud of his 4 holes-in-one. Jim loved baseball (Cubs) and football (Vikings). Jim was a caring son, brother, father and grandad. Jim brought joy and laughter to any and everyone around him. His playful and energetic presence will be missed. Jim will be cremated and laid to rest in a private ceremony, at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe NM, beside his wife Nancy.
