Jean (Abbott) Crocker, 75, passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on September 22, 2016. Jean is survived by her husband, Bob Crocker, her son, Michael Abbott, sister in-law Eva Crocker, nieces, Tina Crocker-Brookshire and Kitty Lundeen, all of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and her daughter Zuki Abbott, grandson Zack Lavin, and great-grandson Taillis Lavin of Colorado, and her sister Anne...
Jean (Abbott) Crocker, 75, passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on September 22, 2016. Jean is survived by her husband, Bob Crocker, her son, Michael Abbott, sister in-law Eva Crocker, nieces, Tina Crocker-Brookshire and Kitty Lundeen, all of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and her daughter Zuki Abbott, grandson Zack Lavin, and great-grandson Taillis Lavin of Colorado, and her sister Anne Butler of Florida. Jean was born in Ithaca, New York to parents, Helen Abbott and Fred Berk. She graduated from White Plains High School in 1957 and went on to work in her parents company, Hospital Baby Portraits and Cine Magnetics, in New York. Jean became very successful as a photographer. Photographing authors, actors, families and pets. She then traveled to photograh around the world. Calendar's and coffee table books use her work to this day. Jean's many awards include Boston Globe magazine, New England Photograhpy Exhibitions, and many others. Jean also owned Abbott Studio and Gallery at the Mercado in Mesilla, New Mexico from 2002-2004. She carried other local artists crafts and photographs. Jean is also known in her last five years of life as an event specialist at Sam's Club and the three Albertson's in Las Cruces. She was loved by the staffs and by the many customers, and dearly loved her job. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. PDF Printable Version
