Jennifer Hopper went to be with the Lord at the age of 15 on November 6th, 2017, in her home. Jennifer was born on August 6th, 2002, in Las Cruces, NM. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Daniel and Linda Hopper (Las Cruces), and her older sister, Hannah Hopper (Las Cruces). Jennifer was attending Arrowhead High School and was in her sophomore year. Her friends and family remember Jennifer as a creative, lively, funny, sweet young woman. She loved animals, especially horses, dolphins, oryxes, and kiwis. Jennifer was a talented decorator and a dedicated student. She loved techno music, Japanese cartoons, drawing, writing, and painting. Jennifer was an accomplished artist who won several awards for her work, including placements in the New Mexico State Fair. Jennifer enjoyed helping others, and could frequently be found helping those around her with small tasks and a listening ear. She was a dedicated friend, always willing to listen and give advice when those around her were going through a difficult time. She was good at making people laugh even when they were feeling sad, with her own special wacky brand of humor. A lifetime Catholic, Jennifer was devoted to Christ. She enjoyed listening to Christian artists like TobyMac and Jamie Grace, and prized the albums and autographs she got from concerts when the bands came into town. Jennifer attended Las Cruces Catholic Schools before going to Arrowhead High School, and made friends who she continued to spend time with and adore into high school. She attended St. Genevieve's Church, and, more recently, San Albino's Basilica. While at St. Genevieve's, Jennifer served as an altar server. Some of her family's favorite memories of Jennifer include hiking up the trails in the Organ Mountains, going the ocean in Puerto Penasco and San Diego, and simply spending time together at home. Jennifer was still considering what she wanted to be when she grew up. She thought about becoming a marine biologist, an engineer, an interior designer, an architect, or a professional graphic artist. At Arrowhead High School, she was preparing to join the school's accelerated degree program, which allows students to obtain their associate's degree while attending high school. Jennifer planned to obtain her associate's in architecture, and had begun to take dual credit classes to help her accomplish her dream. Mass, officiated by Father Rogelio Martinez, will be held at St. Genevieve's Church on Monday, November 13th, 2017, at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, and will be followed by a reception. Pallbearers will be Joe Barry, Ray Barry, Andy Barry, Ricky Bardwell, Jesse Barry, and Cayse Barry. Donations can be made to Jennifer's GoFundMe account: www.gofundme.com/jenniferhopper, to assist with funeral costs.
