Senior Chief Petty Officer, Jerald W Myers Sr, USN Retired, left his last Port of Call in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Friday, February 4, 2022. Born in September 22,1928 in Thiel, Arkansas. At 93 years old, Jerald was preceded in death by quite a few, but in particular, his wife of 67 years, Aura Myers, his father, Sam Myers, his mother Tressie Grigsby, his sisters, Nadine, Bonnie, Patsy, brother Jimmie and his son-in-law, Pat Field. Jerald left a lasting legacy through his four children: Cheryl Ragsdale (Doug) of Kyle, Texas, Jerald Myers Jr (Gwen) of New Braunfels, Texas, Charlotte Kneeland (Ed) of Las Cruces, NM, and Cathy Whiteley (Rick) also of Las Cruces, ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. After proudly serving his country in the United States Navy from 1946 through Korea and the beginnings of Viet Nam in 1966, Jerald honorably discharged and obtained a bachelor's degree from Western New Mexico University. Jerald's career as a medical facility administrator included facilities in the Houston area and all across Central Texas. His expertise was continued through his countless preparation seminars to train the next generation of administrator until his full retirement in 2012. Services are pending, interment will eventually be in the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Service Information
