Jerry Madrid Garcia, 73, of Dona Ana, NM, died peacefully on November 28, 2015. He was born January 13, 1942 son of Isaac and Victoria Garcia. Jerry married Erlinda in 1961. He grew up and spent his life in Dona Ana where he raised his family. His employment as a business agent for the local union was his most rewarding job because it allowed him to help others. Jerry Madrid Garcia, 73, of Dona Ana, NM, died peacefully on November 28, 2015. He was born January 13, 1942 son of Isaac and Victoria Garcia. Jerry married Erlinda in 1961. He grew up and spent his life in Dona Ana where he raised his family. His employment as a business agent for the local union was his most rewarding job because it allowed him to help others. He was a very giving and special person. He could make anyone laugh. He always wanted to help people and make others happy. He spent his later years farming his orchards and managing properties. His kindheartedness and humor will be greatly missed. His greatest joy was the time spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and his siblings. Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Erlinda Garcia and their three children, Jerry Garcia Jr. (Daughter in law Monique Garcia) of Las Cruces, Kathy Garcia Alvarez and spouse Marc Alvarez of Santa Fe, and Isaac Garcia of Las Cruces. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Matthew Keyes-Garcia, Christian Keyes-Garcia, Emily Keyes-Garcia, Summer Garcia, Kylie Alvarez, Kenzie Alvarez, and Jackson Garcia, sisters Elodia Garcia, Mary Jane Garcia, and Yolanda and Mike Gonzales, as well as countless nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Victoria Garcia, father Isaac Garcia, sister, Angelina Lucero, sister, Emma Chavez, brother Leroy Garcia, and brother Ray Garcia. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Purification, Dona Ana Village on Thursday December 3, at 10am.
