Jesus Marquez, 91, died at his home on July 9, 2014 surrounded by his wife and children. Jesus was born to Narciso Marquez and Josefina Camacho in Villa Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 22, 1923. He married the love of his life Regina Lujan May 2, 1959 in Chihuahua, Mexico. At a young age he left home and under the Bracero Act entered the United States as an agricultural worker...
Jesus Marquez, 91, died at his home on July 9, 2014 surrounded by his wife and children. Jesus was born to Narciso Marquez and Josefina Camacho in Villa Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 22, 1923. He married the love of his life Regina Lujan May 2, 1959 in Chihuahua, Mexico. At a young age he left home and under the Bracero Act entered the United States as an agricultural worker until his retirement. Together they raised 5 loving children. In the early 60's he brought his family to the United States first making them a home in La Mesa then La Union and eventually settling in Anthony, New Mexico. Jesus is survived by his wife of 55 years, his 5 children Maria Elena Olson (Randy)of Montana, Gloria Marquez (Paul) of Rio Rancho, NM, Regina M. Blanco (Miguel) of El Paso, TX, Jesus L. Marquez (Gabriela) of Anthony, NM, and Alberto Marquez (Becky) of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by one sister Carol Perez and loving niece Yolanda Morales of El Paso. Jesus is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled to take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, New Mexico on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 5 pm followed by a prayer vigil at 6 pm. A Funeral Liturgy is scheduled for Monday, July 14, 2014 at 10 am also at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Anthony, New Mexico, with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, NM.
