Joe H. Medina

Joe H. Medina, 88 of Las Cruces, NM, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1922 in Dixon, NM to Jose and Cordelia Medina. Joe served his country honorably in the United States Army and in 1953 moved to Las Cruces. In 1980 he retired from White Sands Missile Range as a Radar Chief. He was also a long standing member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years, Laura; four sons, David Medina of Albuquerque, NM; Danny Medina and wife Rose Mary of Las Cruces, NM; Robert Medina and wife Julie Ann of Lancaster, CA, and Joey Medina and wife Mary Ann of Peoria, AZ; one daughter, Cordy Medina of Las Cruces, and one sister, Clara Arellano of Espanola, NM. Also surviving him are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 am on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina with Most Rev. Ricardo Ramirez, C.S.B., officiating. At Joe's request, cremation will follow. His ashes will be interred at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. PDF Printable Version
