Joe R. Maynez, 77 of Las Cruces, NM died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. Joe was born April 6, 1929 in Las Cruces, NM to J.J. and Angelica Triviz Maynez. Joe was honorably discharged from the US Army as a Corporal in 1953. He was a long time employee of Johnston's Hardware and a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Joe is survived by his wife Bernice; one son David Maynez of Las Cruces, NM; one daughter Laura Maynez of Las Cruces, NM one granddaughter Lisa Maynez. Two brothers, Oscar Maynez and his wife Juliette and Ruben Maynez and his wife Corinne all of Las Cruces, NM. Two nieces, Roylene and Lorraine, and three nephews, Ronald, Ruben and Roland. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, J.J. Maynez and Angelica Triviz Maynez, a nephew, Pat Maynez and a niece, Jackie Maynez Rios. At Joe's request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be at 12:10 PM on Friday July 28, 2006 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda. Officiating will be Msgr. John Anderson. Inurnment of his cremains will be at the St. Francis Columbarium, Holy Cross Catholic Church.
