Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Joe Sanchez, 64, left his dwelling place on earth and entered eternal life to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, August 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born July 21, 1953 to Max and Nellie Sanchez in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Joe retired from the City of Las Cruces after 25 years of service in the Recycling and Sanitation Department. He was a bingo player, loved to play music, dance and cook his Chile con carne with his family. Those left to mourn his passing include his wife of 45 years Helen Sanchez, one daughter Teresa Urquides (Anthony), 3 granddaughters Alexis Uriquides, Angelica Uriquides and Alyssa Sanchez who he loved dearly. Other survivors include five brothers, Frank Sanchez, Gilbert Sanchez, Vivian Sanchez, David Sanchez, Conrad Sanchez and five sisters, Mary Rivera, Dolores Ordunez, Maria Eva Apodaca, Sara Bridgeforth, and Sally Sanchez, also numerous nieces and nephews. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Max and Nellie Sanchez, son Joe Max Sanchez and Sister Virginia Chavez. A rosary will be held at 10 am Monday August 21, 2017 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church located at 100 S Espina St, Las Cruces, NM 88001 , followed by Mass and burial at Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Urquides, Tony Holguin, Vivian and Michael Sanchez, Boy Roman, Joey Rios, Jonathan Garcia, Ernie Martinez, Louie Escalante, Jay Brisceno, Marco Jr. Roman, JD Ordunez.
