Johanna Marie Marquardt, nee Liken, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. She was born May 7, 1936 in Sebewaing, Michigan to Clarence and Helen Liken. In Detroit Johanna founded the "Police Officers Wife's Association" and also the "Hot Lunch Program" at Holy Cross Lutheran. She was an avid reader, and loved attending the Symphony and Plays. Johanna Marie Marquardt, nee Liken, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada. She was born May 7, 1936 in Sebewaing, Michigan to Clarence and Helen Liken. In Detroit Johanna founded the "Police Officers Wife's Association" and also the "Hot Lunch Program" at Holy Cross Lutheran. She was an avid reader, and loved attending the Symphony and Plays. A favorite pastime of hers was being at home watching the Detroit Piston's basketball team. She also loved bird watching, fresh flowers and good food. Johanna will be remembered as loving to help others at all times for any reason at the drop of a hat. She is survived by her husband Robert; two daughters, Lisa Janes of South Carolina and Vicki Marquardt of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Liken; sisters, Doris Mishung and Claire Ann Liken; and a brother Warren Liken. Memorial Funeral Services will be at 6 pm on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Mission Lutheran Church, 2752 Roadrunner Parkway, Las Cruces. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Carabotta.
