John E. Laverne, 79, of Las Cruces passed away Friday July 5, 2013 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. John was born August 29, 1933 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to John B. Lavergne and Lorraine Wooley Lavergne. John served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, and worked at White Sands Test Facility from 1979 to 1991, he earned a Masters Degree from Monmouth University, he was a member...
John E. Laverne, 79, of Las Cruces passed away Friday July 5, 2013 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. John was born August 29, 1933 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to John B. Lavergne and Lorraine Wooley Lavergne. John served honorably in the United States Armed Forces, and worked at White Sands Test Facility from 1979 to 1991, he earned a Masters Degree from Monmouth University, he was a member of the Men's club at St John's Methodist Church and was a deacon for the First Presbyterian Church. He had many hobbies such as motorcycles, bike riding, cars, flying, reading, traveling, golfing and swimming. John is survived by his wife, Evelyn Laverne, his son Kevin Laverne of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his daughters Cheryl Allen and her husband Kevin of Newport, VA, Jeanne Agurrie and her husband Danny of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother Fred Lavergne and his wife Dottie; sister Lorraine Lavergne. John is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild. John was preceded in death by his parents John B. Lavergne and Lorraine Wooley Lavergne. Memorial services for John will be Friday July, 12, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m., with Rev Carol Blevins officiating. PDF Printable Version
