John "Grandpa" L. Malfer, 94 of Las Cruces died Saturday January 3, 2009. He was born April 18, 1914 in Innsbruck, Austria to Joseph and Emaly Malfer. Grandpa loved to travel all over the country with his wife Charlene who preceded him in death in 2006. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his brother Mal Malfer of New York, NY his sons Dennis and wife Barbara of Glen Allen, VA, Pastor Robert Fisher and wife Sharon of Tyler, TX, Raymond Fisher of Tucson, AZ, and Ronald Fisher and wife Norberta Hinojosa of Vado, NM. John is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM Wednesday, January 7,2009 at Getz Funeral Home.
