John Leon Ruttle died peacefully on September 11th, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. John was born on April 12th, 1960 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Jack and Carlene (Miller) Ruttle. John graduated from Las Cruces High School and then studied at New Mexico State University and West Texas A & M University majoring in beer and women. Leaving the academic life behind, John wore many different working hats. He and brother Jim owned and operated Ruttle's Custom Farming for several years. Then farmed Red Mountain Livestock with their dad, Jack, in Deming, New Mexico. John also worked for several local farmers and ranchers farming and fixing their farm equipment. John got his CDL and started a long career as an owner operator long distance truck driver, driving for J.B. Hunt, Land Star and Daily Express, Inc. For the last few years, John worked as a mechanic for Valley Equipment. We will always remember John for being a loyal son, a great brother and friend, an amazing uncle, a good dancer, a hard worker, someone always willing to lend a hand and a master at spinning a tale. We will very much miss him but are grateful that he is no longer in pain. John was predeceased by his father, Jack. He leaves behind his beloved mother Carlene, sisters Leslie (Tim) and Karen (Russell), brothers Jim (Denise) and Jeff (Sandy), ten nephews and nieces Alex, Quinten (Kristy), Owen, Sidney (Cody), Shelby (Marc), Kailene, Lucas, Carson, Bonnie, Jaden and eight great-nephews and nieces, as well as, his cherished baby, Bella. Services will be held on September 30th at 10:30 am at the Basilica of San Albino, Mesilla, New Mexico located on the Mesilla Plaza, corner of Calle Principal and Santiago.
