John P. Jonz Jr. 85, of Las Cruces, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born March 22, 1926 in ranger, TX to John P. Jonz Sr. and Janie Foote. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served his country honorably during WW II. While in the service of our country he was awarded the Victory Medal World War II. John was a retired Neon Sign Electrician/Inspector after many years of faithful service for the State of Arizona. He enjoyed photography, the outdoors, target shooting and sign making but his passion was for his family who will forever love and miss him. He is survived by his son David Redford and his daughter Vickie Laughlin and husband Steve all of Las Cruces; grandchildren Nathan and Natalie Redford and Michelle Cottrell and husband Steve and by his nephew Pete Alvey of Marana, AZ. John was preceded in death by his loving wife Jeanelle Jonz, his son Allen Redford and by his parents. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be at 2 pm on Thursday, April 28, 2011 also at Getz Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Sullivan of Radium Springs Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10 am at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice. PDF Printable Version
