John S. Ochoa, 84, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. He was born June 24, 1921 in Anthony, NM to Federico and Rumalda Gonzales. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served his country honorably during WW II in the Philipines. He was also awarded the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the One Bronze Service Arrowhead. Mr. Ochoa will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Bonnie Ochoa of the family hone; daughters Bonnie O. Salazar and husband Carl and Sandra O. Bueno all of Las Cruces. He is also survived by one sister, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by his parents and his two sons John and George. A prayer vigil will be at 6 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at San Albino Catholic Church. The funeral mass is at 1:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 also at San Albino with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at San Albino Catholic Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Carl and Bonnie Salazar, George Ochoa, Lawerence and Issac Bueno and Ronnie Limon. PDF Printable Version
